I’m happy to announce that Gryf will be performed in Helsinki. The concert 25.9.2017 is part of Helsinki Sinfonietta’s Se Festival and the concert in the Rock Church will be conducted by Eero Lehtimäki.
The season 2017-18 starts with a Swedish premiere of Batteria in Stockholm with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Klaus Mäkelä. 13.&14.9.2017 18.00 @Berwaldhallen.
Pekka Kuusisto & Oulu Sinfonia conducted by Johannes Gustavsson will premiere my Violin Concerto “Der Leiermann” in Oulu 19.10.2017 followed by another performance in Brahe Classica 20.10.2017.
The Finnish RSO’s and Andre de Ridder’s performance of Batteria will be presented by Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE in the 64th International Rostrum of Composers 2017 in Palermo, Italy.

Tomorrow I will be heading to my hometown Lahti! One of my first dreams as a composer will come true when maestro Okko Kamu and Lahti Symphony Orchestra will perform Gryf in Sibelius Hall 14.4. at 19.00; the hall where I had my first experience of great symphonic tradition by one of the leading orchestras in the world. Concert will also be renewed at Hämeenlinna’s Verkatehdas 16.4. at 15.00. Warmly welcome!

The spring season starts next week as I’m heading up North to Oulu to hear James Lowe and the Oulu Sinfonia perform “Gryf”. It is -25c here in the South already so I really don’t know what to expect nor how to dress!

Happy news! Yesterday I officially graduated as a Master of Music from Sibelius-Academy. For now on I’ll be focusing on composition as much as I have energy. I’m eagerly looking forward to my first year as a freelancer. Coming up next is a new piece for 8 cellos and a piece for choir and solo cello so stay tuned!

The annual Korvat Auki Spring concert will be held 25.5.2015 18.00 in the Ackte -hall of Sibelius-Academy (4th floor of Töölönkatu 28, Helsinki). The concert consists of new music composed by young composers including my works Epilogi and Arco performed by pianist Hanna-Mari Zinovjev and cellist Lauri Rantamoijanen.
I’m currently busy writing a sextet to be premiered in 4th of May in Musiikkitalo, Helsinki. It is definitely becoming something very different to what I’ve been doing lately at least in terms of compositional process so I’m looking forward to it!
The season 2015 continues in early August with Harri Kuusijärvi’s premiere of my accordion piece Chained and in the beginning of the September my pianoquartet “Chasse-Neige” will get it’s 3rd performance in UNM-festival held this year in Helsinki.
Later in the autumn a premiere of Requiem for solo cello and mixed choir will take place in Lund, Sweden performed by Allhelgona motetkör and Mattias Rodrick. <-Postponed
I am extremely happy to announce that I was rewarded the 3rd prize in the 3rd International Uuno Klami composition competition for my orchestral piece Gryf. The 1st prize got italian Luga Vago and 2nd prize went to german Axel Ruoff. I would like to give my warmest congratulations to Luga and Axel and thank all the finalists including Teodor Nicolau and Alexander Muno for such an awesome week we had in Kymenlaakso working together with the marvelous Kymi Sinfonietta.
My composition “Gryf” for orchesta will be premiered by Kymi Sinfonietta conducted by Yasuo Shinozaki in the final concerts of 3rd International Uuno Klami -composition competition. The total of 5 scores were chosen to the finals from 265 entries representing 37 different nationalities. The jury of the competition consists of leading composers Kalevi Aho, Erkki-Sven Tüür, Magnus Lindberg and conductor Yasuo Shinozaki.
